Purchasing Mistake 12 - “It’s Going Backwards”

Buyers have been known to buy a washing machine or a unit line which does not work in the desired direction, causing a cross flow of work in progress with obvious disadvantages.

This might be because the buyer has seen another manufacturer’s equipment being demonstrated at an exhibition, but decides to buy from a different manufacturer without checking the flow direction.  It is very common for some buyers to be duped by unscrupulous salesmen who skilfully gloss over the weaknesses of their products, but put strong emphasis on their lower prices.  When buyers are misled by such salesmen, they often make even more, and sometimes catastrophic mistakes and consequently cause the demise of their own companies.
